Faringdon Folly Tower and woodland is opening four times next month.

The unusual 100ft tower is an icon on Faringdon’s landscape and usually only opens twice a month.

However September will see the tower open to the public on the first four Sundays of the month between 11am- 5pm.

The tower is the last major folly to have been built in England and from the top, views can be seen over five different counties

It sits on Folly Hill within four acres of woodland, including trees which are more than 200 years old.

The woodland is always open and entry is free.

Created by Lord Berners, the tower's history includes connections with Henry James Pye (of Sing a Song of Sixpence fame) and Oliver Cromwell.
