A REUNION in Semington is being held next month, after locals were amazed to discover how many people had lived for so long on one street.

Now the organisers are appealing to people who live in the village between 1955 and 1965, especially those who had bought houses on what was then the new development of Pound Lane, to come and join them.

"We've been asking round the village and it's really wonderful that so many people have lived here so long, we have about 30 people interested already," said organiser Marilyn, who grew up on Pound Close.

"We're planning an event in the village hall, with a bar and refreshments, and we're asking anyone who comes to bring any old pictures they have of themselves, the street and the village.

"Anyone with Semington links is welcome, we just chose those dates because that's when the road dates from."
