Police have cordoned off an area behind the New Inn in Stratton, Swindon, during an armed stand-off with a gunman.

At least two shots have just been fired.

:: A local man has been arrested, police say
:: Police were called at around 8pm, drinkers say
:: Revellers were held at the Dockle Farmhouse and the back doors of the New Inn remain shut
:: A police cordon remains in place behind the New Inn

:: Police are yet to explain the nature of the call-out, however a number of shots have been heard and armed police are at the scene
:: One man, 19, told the Adver he had heard armed police apparently raiding a home. The teen said: "I saw them duck down behind the car. You could hear them shout: 'armed police, armed police'. There's shots going off."
