ARMED police sealed streets in Stratton earlier, after a gunman reportedly let off shots from his cul-de-sac home.

Here's everything we know about the incident:
- Police were called at around 7.30pm to Darling Close. Residents described hearing up to five shots fired
- Armed police could be heard identifying themselves, although it is said the gunman unleashed more shots
- A stand-off saw West End Road and the New Inn and Dockle Farmhouse pubs' car parks shut. Drinkers were kept inside the Dockle, while in the New Inn drinkers were not allowed into the garden

Police at the scene
- According to one eyewitness the gunman was heard telling police: "Just kill me"
- The stand-off came to an end after 9pm
- Police say a 31-year-old local man has been arrested on suspicion of possession of a firearm, criminal damage and common assault. He is currently in custody at Gablecross Police Station
- Despite rumours circulating on social media, nobody was injured in the incident
One teen who witnessed the incident unfold told the Adver: “It was scary. Darling Close is just a little dead-end road. Nothing like that really happens.”
Brandon Wise, 19, was in the New Inn, when he said he saw armed officers outside a house: "I saw them duck down behind the car. You could hear them shout: 'armed police, armed police'. There's shots going off."
