HUNDREDS of pounds have been raised to support a little girl suffering from cancer.

Emma-Louise Thorne and Zoe Curtis organised a fundraising event for two-year old Esmée  Todd who was diagnosed with a rare cancer.

She had one of her ovaries and her kidney removed yesterday.

The event held at the Boundary House aimed to help Esmée’s mother Megan Edwards and her family make her life more comfortable.

Throughout the day they managed to raise more than £800.

Emma said: "It was a big team effort. It was very stressful at times but it was a success and the hard work was worth it.

"It makes me feel proud that we could do something that is going to help. We have been friends for a few years now living next door to each other and our children have grown up together, they are pretty much family to ours.

"So when we had the idea of doing the fundraiser we jumped on it, it's the least we could do."

More than 200 people attended the event which featured various activities including bouncy castle, face painting, glitter tattoos, tombola, BBQ and games.

Zoe added: “Considering it wasn’t as busy as I hoped we did amazing! “It feels fabulous being able to help them.

“I think Esmée enjoyed it really, she was quiet as usual but she was happy enough, meeting everyone.”
