THE BOY who stabbed Wiltshire schoolgirl Ellie Gould to death can be named, after a judge lifted an order banning him from being identified.
Appearing before Bristol Crown Court this morning, Thomas Griffiths, 17, of Lansdowne Crescent, Derry Hill, this morning pleaded guilty to murdering the Hardenhuish School pupil in May.
Wearing a dark blue suit and white shirt, Griffiths spoke only to confirm his name and guilty plea. He is said to have stabbed Ellie Gould multiple times.
He will be sentenced on Friday, November 8.
Judge Peter Blair QC lifted a reporting restriction order banning the press from identifying the Wiltshire schoolboy.
Despite representations from the boy’s barrister, Peter Binder, Judge Blair said it was appropriate and reasonable to lift the order.
