GREAT Western Hospital is on the lookout for volunteers to inspect its environment.

Volunteers will spend the day with the staff at the hospital to check the quality conditions for patients.

They will look at the cleanliness, food, privacy, the maintenance of the building and if the needs of patients with dementia and a disability is being met.

Anyone taking part will have their lunch provided, free parking and full training before.

The head of facilities at GWH Laura Coulson spoke of the assessment: "It's so important for us to to get a clear picture of the environment from a patient and public perspective and patient assessors always make up at least half of the assessment team.

"Anyone can volunteer to take part. You can be a patient or former patient, a volunteer, a carer, a student or just somebody who wants to support their local NHS."

The assessment will be on October 23 at the hospital and anyone who is interested can call Laura on 01793605922.
