SCHOOLCHILDREN are set to go on strike just a couple of weeks after going back to class following the summer holidays.
A climate change strike is being organised by multiple groups including Earth Strike, Extinction Rebellion, Swindon Climate Action Network.
School children have been called on to join the strike on September 20 along with anyone else who wants to join.
Across the world climate strikes have been in action as young people and allies aim to save the planet.
A spokesperson for Swindon Trade Union Council, who hosted the meeting last Friday to discuss the strike said: βIt is crucial that we respond to this call and build action in September and that trade unions are involved to help put working class people at the centre of the movement for climate justice.β The event is a global strike taking place in Victoria Road at 12.30pm.
