A ROBBERY suspect is said to have jumped from a hedgerow and threatened to assault his victim.

Police said a man, 20s, was walking along an alleyway between Nursteed Road and the DS Smith packaging factory in Devizes when a man jumped from a hedgerow and demanded he hand over cash.

When the young victim refused a second man jumped from the same hedgerow, threatening to attack the man. As he continued walking a curly-haired woman, believed to be in her 30s, cycled past.

Police appealed for the female cyclist to come forward. PC Nicola Cross said: “This woman may have information which could help us identify the two suspects and we’d urge her to get in touch.

“The victim in this case wasn’t injured but he was left shaken up. We’d ask anyone with information to call us as it could help with our enquiries.”

The two suspects are described as white, approximately 5 ft 5 inches tall and of slim build. They had dark hair and are believed to be in their late 20s. One of the men was smoking a roll-up. Both were wearing dark tracksuits with hoodies.

The incident happened at 8pm on Saturday, August 31.
