SNDogs is appealing for help feeding its collection of hungry hounds.

“We’re really low on food at the moment,” said trustee and volunteer Clare Fantini-Stephens. “I went to our Big Yellow Self Storage unit where we keep everything the other day and we running very low, especially on wet food.”

SNDogs runs a foster organisation in Pinehurst, where needy dogs are looked after in a network of 14 volunteer foster homes across the town.

The charity is currently looking after 20 dogs, who require different types of food including that suitable for different ages, sizes and for dogs with sensitive skin.

Clare added: “We go through about 31 cans a day, plus dry food.

“We feed the dogs pouches, cans of meat in jelly, gravy and meatloaf. We are mostly short of meat.”

Donation baskets can be found in the Lanterns Cafe in Old Town, Drove Veterinary Hospital, Eastcott Vets, and The Bakers Arms in Upper Stratton, among others.
