This week’s Reader Recommends looks at where the best places in Swindon are to get a full English breakfast

Swindon Advertiser:

1) Dotty's Cafe in Old Town came out the clear winner in this week’s Reader Recommends.

Numerous people voted for the independent establishment that offers more than just breakfast.

However, on the breakfast, Emma Beckett said: "We went o Dotty's the other day, very nice!"

Claire Whyte added: "Dotty's in Old Town is the best by far."

Tracy Mcloughlin, Carole Yeo and Alison Hannay all joined in with recommending Dotty's as the best place for a full English.

Dotty's Cafe also offers breakfast as an all-day meal.

Swindon Advertiser:

2) Another popular choice for a full English breakfast was Fillerz in the Brunel Centre.

This establishment was recommended by Jane Maskell, who also recommended Dotty’s Cafe and said: “Both are fantastic.”

Jane was joined by Andy Mann and Marc Cowan in their approval for the store.

Though traditionally offering sandwiches, Fillerz has clearly made a name for itself with its breakfast box offerings including a full English, half English and a vegan option as well as baps.

Swindon Advertiser:

3) The Blues Cafe was a highly recommended stop for your morning.

Located in the town centre, the small cafe offers a variety of cheap choices.

Joshua Lambert said: “Blues Cafe, hands down!” with Stuart Chrisp adding: “There’s no other option.”

The cafe seemed to be a popular choice. Alongside Joshua and Stuart others voiced their recommendations for the establishment, including Michelle Guy and Chris Paris-Haines.

According to TripAdvisor the cafe boasts a four star review as well as favourable comments from its visitors.

It even comes with outside seating.

Swindon Advertiser:

4) The Village Inn at Shaw proved to be another popular choice, but not just for its classic full English.

Ryan Donovan said: “The Village Inn in West Swindon is the only place in Swindon that does gluten-free sausages for coeliacs!

“They also do gluten-free roast dinner and deserts, among other things. It's a good breakfast and a decent price.”

Jean Kavanagh Davies also voiced her support for the West Swindon establishment.

If you have a gluten intolerance then it sounds like The Village Inn is the place for you to pick up your first meal of the day.

Swindon Advertiser:

5) The final breakfast choice on our Reader Recommends is Lanterns Cafe in Town.

Donna Foxworthy said: “Five star rating and it's all fresh.”

Andy Holmes added: “Lanterns is the best by far.”

Gemma Cowley and Shirely Burnett also voiced their support for Lanterns.

The cafe, on Havelock Street in the town centre is right next door to The Blues Cafe and it has a four-star review on TripAdvisor.

Lanterns Cafe serves its breakfast throughout the day.
