WILTSHIRE restaurants impressed Good Food Guide readers and inspectors.

The Dining Room in Whatley Manor near Malmesbury ranked at number 30 in the guide's 2020 list of top foodie hotspots.

The Methuen Arms in Corsham and The Bunch of Grapes in Bradford-upon-Avon are among 12 new entries from the south west that also appear in the new guide.

Editor Elizabeth Carter said: “Seven decades of publication have given The Good Food Guide a unique insight into eating out in Britain.

"The more we conduct our lives online, the more we look for care, provenance and thoughtfulness – especially when it comes to food.

"With diners increasingly looking for flexible eating options and value for money, there has been a surge in inexpensive cafés and restaurants that rank quality of ingredients above all else."

Wiltshire as a whole ranked as the eight 'foodiest' region in the guide's top 10.
