Swindon Old Town Rotary Club is helping to provide emergency aid to communities in the Bahamas devastated by Hurricane Dorian.
President of the club Bob Barrett, who is championing the cause said: “We are raising funds for Shelterboxes which contain tents and supplies for natural disasters.
“We want to respond to the desperate needs of families who have lost their homes in this terrible storm,” he added. More than 2,500 people have been listed as missing since the disaster.
The club which meets every Wednesday at 20 at The Kings in Wood Street raises cash for a range of causes at home and abroad. This year it supported 18 charities through its fundraising efforts.
