Those most affected by Swindon’s eastward expansion can and speak to planners about the scheme at three events later this month.

The New Eastern Villages development could see 8,000 houses built on the edge of town, to the east of the A419, along with schools, employment land, shops and community and leisure facilities.

To prepare for the development, roads will be improved at the White Hart Roundabout, Oxford Road and Nythe Road junction, Gablecross junction and a new road will be constructed linking the villages to the Commonhead roundabout and the A419 and M4.

Drop-in events will held at Coleview Community Centre, Towcester Road, on Tuesday, September 24, between 3pm to 7.30pm, at 2019 at Hooper’s Field Hall, Rotten Row, Wanborough on Thursday,September 26, between 4pm to 7pm and at South Marston Village Hall, on Thursday, October 3, between 3.30pm to 6.30pm.

Detailed plans will be available to view and council officers involved in the project will be able to answer questions.
