Swindon Cares has rescheduled its charity golf day for next month.

October 4 will be the day for the tournament at the Wrag Barn Golf Club where teams will compete for the top prize.

Chris Harrison, who helped organise the event, said: “Sincere apologies for the rescheduling of this event due to the forecasted weather of rain and lightning, it was a huge call to make.”

Bacon baps and hot drinks will be served at noon followed by team registration at 12.30pm and a prompt start at 1.00pm.

Entry is £200 per team and the afternoon includes a post-golf carvery and raffle prizes.

This year’s tournament will be supporting the Swindon Night Shelter, which runs a hostel for homeless people every Friday between 9pm and 8am the next morning at St Mary’s Church Hall on Cheney Manor Road.

To take part in the tournament, entry forms are to be sent to jane.fox@zct.org.uk or for more, contact Chris Harrison on 07921 502862 or Antony McAteer 07901896566.

Swindon Cares has been fundraising for the last 17 years, bringing in more than £287,000 for charitable, community and voluntary organisations in Swindon.
