Suspected drink-drive woman who kicked, punched and spat at officers has been arrested.

Royal Wootton Bassett police have said that the woman failed a breath test after a collision with another vehicle on Lydiard Green.

She has been arrested on suspicion of driving whilst over the prescribed limit of alcohol.

A statement from Royal Wootton Bassett police said: "Over night, Team 2 attended a report of a two vehicle road traffic collision on Lydiard Green in Lydiard Millicent.

"Prior to arrival, a male, a female and a child had left the scene and were later located at an address in Royal Wootton Bassett. 

"The female was subsequently arrested on suspicion of driving whilst over the prescribed limit of alcohol after failing the roadside breath test.

"Whilst at the Great Western Hospital, the female assaulted three police officers by means of kicking, punching and spitting. 

"She remains in custody for questioning."
