A NEW day nursery in the town centre held an open day ahead of its official opening.

Inquisitive Minds Pre-school is expanding from its current site in the Central Community Centre to a second building in Trinity Hall.

The open day gave families the opportunity to explore the new nursery and meet the team.

Director and manager Charmaine Peters said: "The team are thrilled to be expanding. It is a beautiful building and we are hoping to provide good quality childcare for families in the area.

" There is a need for childcare spaces in the area and Inquisitive Minds Pre-school and day nursery is hoping to fill the gap left by the unfortunate closure of Trinity Day Nursery."

The current site has been open since November 2016 and in October 2018, the pre-school achieved an Outstanding Ofsted report on its first inspection.

The new provision is using the same building as Trinity Day nursery which closed suddenly in July.

The nursery will open for 48 weeks of the year from 8am to 6pm, offering childcare and early education for children aged thee months to five years old.

The provision will have a baby room, toddler room, room for two-to-three-year-olds, and a pre-school room.

The current Inquisitive Minds Pre-School site at Emlyn Square and the new site at Trinity Hall use the Montessori method and philosophy.

The Montessori approach is holistic and aims to develop the whole child. Fundamental to the approach is the belief that a child's early years from birth to six years are the period when they have the greatest capacity to learn.
