THE Methodist Housing Association is taking part in a community ping pong event.

MHA will host Ping Pong in the Community at retirement community Fitzwarren Court on Kingsdown Road later this week.

The event is part of the Swindon Live at Home Scheme and is being held for its 90 members and the residents at Fitzwarren on Wednesday.

Part of a 12-week long scheme, the first session runs from 3pm until 4pm, and is open to all.

The aim is to demonstrate how all abilities can get involved in playing table tennis.

Scheme manager, Julie Dowie said: “Many of our members have experienced the game of table tennis.

"This opportunity is for 12 weeks with professional coaches to support and teach those who would like to relive those memories of playing.”

The event is part of the Campaign to End Loneliness in Swindon run by MP Robert Buckland, in conjunction with Swindon Seniors' Forum

MHA is a charity which provides care, accommodation and support services for older people throughout the UK.
