Violent Swindon bully Ricky Wilding jailed for six years eight months

A hooligan who stamped on his girlfriend’s head as her child cowered nearby was described as a serious risk to women.

Ricky Wilding was sentenced to six years and eight months imprisonment for the sickening attack on the mum-of-two in July.

And Recorder Richard Shepherd told the 22-year-old he could expect to serve at least two-thirds of that time in custody as well as an extended two-year licence period, after finding him to be a dangerous offender.

Wiltshire cocaine and MDMA dealer jailed for 2 years and 9 months

An autistic drug dealer’s mum broke down in the witness stand as she told a Swindon judge her son was “not a bad lad”.

Now, her boy Daniel Brunt-Murphy has been jailed for two years and nine months.

The 25-year-old fashion salesman had been unmasked by police within weeks of starting to sell cocaine and ecstasy in Wiltshire.

When police raided his Chippenham home in June last year they discovered cocaine worth more than £5,000 and ecstasy with an estimated value of £1,700.

Mugger who robbed OAP of freedom jailed

A mugger said to have robbed her 75-year-old victim of her independence has been jailed for more than two years.

Diane Ponting was on her way to steal goods from the Co-op on the morning of November 15 last year to pay off a drugs debt when she spotted pensioner Sheila Gunn.

The Walcot woman was on her way back from the shops with milk and a newspaper in one hand and her purse and tobacco in the other.

Swindon Crown Court heard 32-year-old Ponting had seen the woman, who suffers from chronic arthritis, as an easier target.
