A KNIFE arch and sniffer dog greeted commuters at Swindon railway station this morning.

The unusual sight was part of a British Transport Police operation targeting county lines drug dealers travelling to Swindon by train from London.

BTP is yet to confirm whether any arrests have been made. However, when the Adver visited the station at around 11.30am, a young man claiming to be 17-years-old was being searched by police.

The operation came on the same day Wiltshire Police executed six drugs warrants across Swindon in a targeted blitz on gangs selling crack cocaine and heroin in the town.
