The planning meeting scheduled for this evening to consider the details of the redevelopment of Abby Stadium has been cancelled.
Members of the committee were meant to make a decision on the layout and access to the stadium in north Swindon. Owners Gaming International have already been given outline permission to knock down the existing structure and rebuild it, but they must get the details approved.
With the noise of both speedway greyhound meetings being one of the possible issues of contention, the council’s public health officers have asked for another report from Gaming International on how it intends to prevent nuisance being caused to nearby residents.
There is still work going on in large housing estate next door to the stadium, but the majority of the houses are already occupied.
It is not known when the matter will be ready for the committee to decide.
Its next meeting is now Tuesday November 12.
