Primary school children with an imaginative side have been challenged to create a new road safety banner.

Marking national Road Safety Week, 18 - 24 November, the banner has to follow the theme of 'step up for safe streets'.

Road safety charity, Brake, have teamed up with Recognition Express, a promotional product supplier, to host the competition for the eleventh year in a row.

The winners of the competition will receive an award along with a large-scale printed banner featuring their design that can be displayed outside their school.

Steve Richmond, director of Recognition Express West in Swindon, said: “The week aims to inspire thousands of schools, organisations and communities to take action and promote road safety awareness.”

“Previously we have been blown away by the creative ideas children in Swindon come up with to get life-saving messages across.”

The closing date for designs is Friday October 11 and should be submitted at
