MEMBERS of Salisbury City Council visited a hospice near the city to find out more about its services across Wiltshire.

Mayor of Salisbury John Walsh, Mayoress Carrie Walsh, leader of Salisbury City Council, Jeremy Nettle, and his wife Sue, visited Julia's House in Devizes on October 4, to learn how the charity supports children and families with life limiting or threatening conditions, as well as seeing what a difference has been made thanks to funding from the Salisbury community.

Councillor Walsh said: “I was very impressed by the excellent facilities and staff provided by Julia’s House in Devizes for children with life threatening illnesses from across Wiltshire.

“The fact that all of their funding comes from the public here in Salisbury and elsewhere in the county made me really appreciate the generosity of so many of my citizens.”

Julia's House is hosting an open day on November 28 from 11am until 2pm at the hospice in Devizes, giving visitors the chance to meet staff and tour the site.
