Volunteers from McDonald’s restaurants across Swindon spruced up a Scout hall and provided kit to a local football team.

Thirteen volunteers from the fast-food restaurants owned and operated by franchisee Carl Room, helped to regenerate Stratton St Margaret’s Scout hall, which had recently been broken into.

They presented new kit to Lydiard Youth Under-15s development team.

The regeneration project included repainting the hall’s walls, providing extra storage inside the hall, cutting the grass, removing rubbish and extending the car park.

Lydiard Youth Under-15s football club is now officially twinned with Carl’s restaurants and he hopes to continue supporting the club in the future.

Carl said: “I understand the positive impact my business can have in the Swindon community. Myself and my teams aim to help wherever we can.
