PEDESTRIANS had to dodge a car involved in a police chase as it cut down the Silver Street road closure in Trowbridge whilst the Weavers Market was taking place on Saturday.

Police are now appealing for information after they stopped the car on the Halve at 1.50pm before it made off at speed in the direction of the town centre.

The car – a silver Vauxhall Corsa - went through the road closure and then down Park Road before the driver got out the car and made off on foot into Trowbridge Park.

Police are appealing for any witnesses, particularly those who may have seen the driver of the vehicle make off or those who were nearly hit by the vehicle.

If anyone has dash cam footage, officers would urge you to get in touch as you could have captured footage which could significantly help enquiries.
