A JUDGE has told a Swindon man who admitted molesting two children to expect to go to prison.
Appearing before Swindon Crown Court, Peter Maynard, 51, of Hatch Road, Stratton St Margaret, pleaded guilty to six charges of indecent assault on a girl under the age of 16 and two counts of inciting a girl under the age of 16 to commit and act of gross indecency.
It is said the offences were committed over a 16 month period between February 2002 and June 2003.
Judge Jason Taylor QC ordered a pre-sentence report be completed by the probation service. He said: “You have pleaded guilty today to what you must understand are very serious offences.
“The overwhelming likelihood indeed inevitability is that this will result in an immediate custodial sentence.”
Maynard spoke only to confirm his name and his guilty pleas. He was bailed to appear before Swindon Crown Court on November 28 for sentence.
