A WORKWEAR business has revealed its latest step on the journey to being a greener business.

Magic Touch Promotions, which produces workwear and promotional gifts for other companies, has replaced its diesel delivery van with one that's fully electric.

The new vehicle is a Nissan E-NV200.

Joint partners John Jolly and Eden Merrylees said: “We have ambitious plans to go green and it was important to use that we took another step on this journey.

“The existing van was diesel, which is impactful to our environment, so to move to an electric van seemed the obvious choice.”

Alongside the new van, the company is looking at other ways to reduce its impact on the environment.

The partners said: “This is in addition to reducing waste within our business, changing energy providers, recycling more and extending our offering of eco-friendly products to give out customers improved choice as we work on going green together.

“We are passionate about making a difference.”

The van has a 40kWh battery, which allows for travel of up to 187 miles per charge.

The company has stopped the use of all plastic bottles within the business and has issued all staff members with a reusable bottle. And it has brought in rule which only allows printing when absolutely necessary.

Magic Touch is continuing its environmental campaign by looking into eco-friendly packaging options, providing all staff members with new eco-friendly clothing and offering all customers a quote for eco-friendly products.

The company has been operating in Swindon since 1998 and is based at the Spectrum Building on Mead Way.
