A medical incident on Groundwell Road saw the air ambulance hovering over the town centre this afternoon.
Two ambulances and a rapid-response vehicle were at the scene.
A statement from the South Western Ambulance Service said: "We were called at 12.04pm.
"We attended with two ambulances and a rapid-response vehicle.
"One patient has been taken to hospital for further treatment."
