POLICE are calling for help to fight modern-day slavery and trafficking.

It comes as the annual Anti-Slavery Day has come around - it raises awareness and encourages people to take action.

Modern slavery is the recruitment, movement, harbouring or receiving of someone through force or coercion.

A spokesperson for Wiltshire Police said: "Information from the public is vital in the fight against modern slavery. Together as a community we can eradicate slavery and trafficking in Wiltshire and reduce the exploitation of the most vulnerable people."

It can be reported through 101 or anonymously through The National Modern Slavery Helpline on 08000 121 700, Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
