A volunteer roadshow is coming to town.
Swindon Borough Council’s Health and Wellbeing team will visit different parts of Swindon in the coming weeks to promote some of the volunteering opportunities available.
Current activities include befriending a lonely person or helping with small, one-off tasks, among others opportunities.
Councillor Brian Ford, Swindon Borough Council’s Cabinet Member for Adults and Health, said: “Volunteering is a fantastic way to improve your own wellbeing as well as giving something back to your local community.
“There are lots of ways you can get involved, so if you can spare a few hours and want to help deliver a worthwhile project, please come along to one of the drop-in sessions and find out how you could make a difference.”
The roadshow will be at the following locations over the next few weeks:
October 22, Penhill Community Centre, 1pm-3pm, October 24, Haydon Centre and Gym, 9.30-12noon, October 25, Redhouse Community Centre 9.10am-11.10am, October 29, Toothill Community Centre 9.30am- -11.30am, October 31, Broadgreen Community Centre 9.30am-11.30am.
