A VIRAL anti-Brexit video that been watched hundreds of thousands of times online was filmed just outside Swindon.

The two-minute video sees the message Britain now wants to Remain ploughed into a farmer's field while stirring music plays.

It was put together by campaign group Led by Donkeys, which is fighting Brexit.

Liz Webster, who ran as the Liberal Democrats’ Parliamentary candidate for North Swindon in 2017 and voted remain in the 2016 referendum, worked with the group at her farm at Castle Eaton, near Blunsdon.

She was inspired by a YouGov analysis of 300 polls saying that the majority of Britons would now vote to remain in the EU.

“The message was going to be ‘Stop Brexit’ but then we decided to reflect the new polls which suggest more people want to stay in the EU than leave," she said.

“People have been contacting the farm from all over the world since the video went online. There seems to be more interest internationally.

“Brexit will decimate British farming and destroy our agricultural community which will effect everyone. It’s going to do to farms what the 80s did to the coal mines.

“We hope this message will make people think again because now is a pivotal moment.”

The message was carved into the field on Wednesday and a drone flew over capture it on camera. The video has been viewed on Twitter more than 500,000 times.

Liz added: “I launched the Farmers for a People’s Vote initiative and did a stunt in London that got a lot of attention. Led by Donkeys then contacted me to do this video.

“The Leave campaign dominated a lot of farms so we wanted to get the Remain message out there to warn about Brexit’s devastating effect on farming.

“Farming in Britain is going to become unaffordable because we rely on imports for equipment and the devaluation of the pound has made exporting goods difficult.

“People believe it will be fine but it won’t be. The government keeps the impact assessments hidden from Parliament and the public.

"Why would they do that if Brexit is supposed to be such a great thing for the country?

“We need to be absolutely sure that this is the right thing to do.”
