Devizes Road is now open, despite closure signs left by Thames Water causing chaos and confusion during the morning rush hour.
There were reports of buses and cars backing up at each end of the road in Old Town this morning, after Thames Water offically reopened the road but left the closed signs behind.
The water company had closed the road between Wood Street and Bradford Road yesterday for work to replace a sewer cover.
However as of 7.45am the road has offically been reopened.
