MORE than 1,000 soldiers will march through Lyneham for Remembrance Sunday.
It is the Army’s largest battalion parade and it will be the second year it will take place in the village.
A spokesperson for the Defence School of Electronic and Mechanical Engineering said: “This is the second year in which the battalion has marched through Lyneham, demonstrating the close and growing links between the military base and the village.
“It marks four years since the Defence School of Electronic and Mechanical Engineering moved to Ministry of Defence Lyneham.”
Lieutenant colonel Matt Horn is the commanding officer and will lead the soldiers including a group from the Royal Marines.
Two vehicles which were used in the battlefield to recover damaged vehicles will drive alongside them.
A formal salute will take place before the march starts at the Lyneham Library at Calne Road.
The march will start at 10.25am and it will finish at the REME Museum.
Roads across the village will be closed for the parade, including Calne Road, Prince Phillip Barracks, Chippenham Road, Hollow Way and The Green.
