Swindon Striders gathered for their Monday club run at the Croft sports centre and used the opportunity to hand over a pile of tinned soup and food destined for the night shelter and Swindon Food Collective.

Alan Butler, who organises the RunVEMBER Challenge every year to raise money for and awareness of the homeless, said: “RunVEMBER is all about community, the running community and the local community raising much needed awareness for the those who are less fortunate – the homeless community. It’s a great way of bringing people of all abilities together, whether runners, walkers or swimmers, everyone is doing their bit to help the homeless during the course of a month.

"It’s also nice to be nice, and tonight’s Swindon Striders’ meet up, to donate tins of soup and food for the homeless, is proof of this and also how supportive and caring the wider running community of Swindon is.”
