CURRENT and former members of the military will get free travel on Remembrance Sunday, as a bus firm looks to give back to our soldiers.
Stagecoach West will be giving costless rides to veterans and current personnel carrying ID to and from services to honour those who lost their lives in service.
Throughout November, Stagecoach West bus stations will be used as locations for donation boxes, while veterans have also been invited to carry out collections at several local bus terminals.
Rupert Cox, managing director of Stagecoach West, said: “Many of our employees are either ex-serving personnel or have friends and family who are in the Armed Forces, so it’s a cause very close to our hearts. By getting involved in such an important campaign, we hope to help make a real impact to the Armed Forces community locally. This wouldn’t be possible without the ongoing support from our passengers, drivers and members of staff, who have already been donating generously to the cause.”
Stagecoach West drivers are encouraged to wear a red poppy until Sunday.
