A MAN has been banned from the road after being stopped while nearly twice the drink-drive limit.
Matthew Wilkinson, 33, of Mustang Way, was charged with drink driving and driving without a valid MOT certificate after being stopped on March 19 on Corporation Street.
A breath test revealed he had 65mg of alcohol in 100ml of breath, with the legal limit being 35mg.
Wilkinson pleaded guilty when he appeared before magistrates yesterday.
He was banned from driving for 17 months, and offered a rehabilitation course, ordered to pay £415 fine and £310 court costs. He was also ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £41.
