A KNIFE-WIELDING robber stole cash and threatened shop staff in Stratton.

The criminal went into the Grange Convenience Store on Grange Drive just before 3pm on September 17 and threatened a member of staff with a knife.

The shop employee pushed the panic button and picked up a plastic stool to throw at the suspect, who then ran away.

Just minutes later on the same day, a man entered Ermin Food and Wine on Ermin Street, and threatened a member of staff with a knife.

The robber forced the worker to open the till and then took some cash and two bottles of vodka before fleeing the scene of the crime.

Luckily, neither of the staff members at either of the Stratton shops were hurt.

Det Con Catherine Price said: "This was a frightening experience for both members of staff and we are working hard to try find out who carried out these crimes.

"We're reissuing the CCTV images of the person we believe is responsible for both robberies and urging the public to take a closer look to help us identify the person responsible."
