The M4 will be closed in both directions between Maidenhead and central Slough next weekend.

Marsh Lane Bridge will be demolished between 8pm on Friday November 15 to 6am on Monday November 18.

The motorway will be closed between junctions 6 and 8 while this work is being carried out.

The work is part of a project to convert the M4 between junctions 3 and 12 to a smart motorway.

Highways England is using the closure to build a new temporary bridge near junction 7 Huntercombe Spur and lift the new Monkey Island Lane bridge deck into place.

Clearly-signed diversions will be in place and Highways England is advising drivers to plan their journeys in advance and to leave extra time.

Traffic will be diverted via the A308M, A308 and the A355 with fully-signed diversions. Expect delays. Drivers are advised to plan ahead, leave extra time for journeys and consider alternative routes.

This stretch of the M4 will shut again over the weekend of November 29. to 2 December.
