A SPECIAL celebration is being held tomorrow to mark the end of Swindon’s second Beat the Street challenge.
Community teams who topped the tables will be presented with prizes at the Coach House tea room in Lydiard Park between noon and 3pm on Saturday.
There will be fun family activities for people of all ages to get involved in.
The event is free, though visitors will need to pay for parking.
Thousands of people walked, jogged and ran more than 250,000 miles during this year’s popular six-week initiative, which featured more Beat Boxes, locations and leaderboards than the first effort in 2018.
Competition was fierce between the schools, though Haydonleigh Primary pupils racked up the most miles.
Beat the Street was delivered by Intelligent Health and funded by the National Lottery on behalf of Sport England and Swindon Borough Council with the intention of increasing levels of walking and cycling in Swindon and getting people more active.
