CHILDREN have been given a learning boost thanks to a number of helper groups.
A new Life Education Classroom, which visits Wiltshire's primary schools, has replaced the old one which has been touring the county since the 1980s.
Eleven Rotary clubs from Wiltshire combined to raise £12,000 and Malmesbury League of Friends donated £10,000. The rest of the money was funded by the worldwide Rotary Foundation.
The mobile classroom provides children from 3-11 years with the knowledge and skills needed to make healthy life decisions. It includes education on drug misuse, health, relationships and well-being.
MLOF chairman David Hide said: “We are delighted to support this very important project. It is vital that young children, faced with all the challenges of modern life, are given the essential life skills, particularly the dangers of drug misuse.”
Rotarian Ray Sanderson said: "We are extremely grateful to MLOF for this generous donation. I would like to thank all Rotary clubs who helped to buy the LEC."
