The Christmas toy appeal is back again this year.

Gateway Church and other places of worship across Swindon are hosting an appeal to help struggling families give presents to their children.

Recipient families are nominated by agencies and each child is able to choose two main presents, a soft toy, a book and some stocking fillers.

There will be three events during the week of December 9 where families can choose their gifts and wrap them for Christmas Day.

Geoff Naylor, manager of Christians Against Poverty in Swindon said: “There are many families locally who struggle and for whom Christmas is a very difficult time. Sadly, it often drives families into further debt. Knowing that there is something that they can give without resorting to loans will be a great relief.”

Donation points and toy suggestions are available online at gatewaychurchswindon.org.uk.
