ARTISTS from across the generations had their work on display in Devizes Town Hall as the Lawrence Society put on a three day exhibition.
In addition to members being able to display their works it was also an opportunity for art created by young people aged from four to 18 to be featured as part of a society competition.
Society secretary Margaret Hanson said: “The exhibition featured more than 150 works by members of the society with many of the paintings available for sale.”
Chairman Kim Wright said: “We were very pleased with the exhibition it was the most successful one we have ever had.”
The society was founded in 1953 and is named after Sir Thomas Lawrence who died in 1830 and was a famous royal portrait painter.
It aims to foster interest in art by lectures, demonstrations, classes, outings, workshops and a major annual exhibition.
Members meet on the first Monday of the month at 7pm in the Assembly Rooms at Devizes Town Hall. Annual membership costs £20 or £6 for students.
