The future of the NHS will be the focus of an elections hustings event next weekend.

Campaign group Keep Our NHS Public is hosting a session and has invited all of the seven candidates standing in both Swindon constituencies to answer questions and debate the health service.

Members of the audience will be able to ask questions of the would-be MPs.

Two clinical NHS staff, Dr Mona Kamal, consultant psychiatrist and Dr Jackie Applebee-Turner, a GP, will also talk about their experiences working for the service.

Samantha Wathen of Keep Our NHS Public Swindon said: "This election is crucial for the future of our NHS, both locally and nationally, and its future affects every one of us.

"I dearly hope that local people come, listen to candidates and use the opportunity to have their say on the state of the national health service.

The hustings event will start at 2.30pm on Sunday December 1 at the Wyvern Theatre.

Tickets are free from swindontheatres.co.uk/Online/tickets-nhs-election-roadshow-swindon-2019.

The campaign group is asking for a voluntary donation £2.00 to help cover costs of putting on the election event.
