THE CIRENCESTER Christmas lights switch-on is always a popular event, with hundreds packing out the centre of town.
This year, the festivities start at 11am today with the opening of the Advent market.
The lights will be switched on at 7pm by BBC Countryfile star Ellie Harrison. The TV personality is the president of the Gloucestershire Wildlife Trust.
Music, drama and dance performances will run from 3pm on the main stage.
Market Place will be closed all day. The Stagecoach Service 51 bus will stop at The Forum rather than Bingham House.
#Swindon Service 51 update - Cirencester Market place is closed all day for a Festive Event and therefore Cheltenham bound services will stop at the Forum instead of Bingham House. Swindon bound services are unaffected.
