A PAIR of bollards were smashed across the road like skittles by an Audi saloon that failed to stop at the scene, according to reports
Allan Freeth, 49, said of the Rodbourne Road prang: “I heard a massive bang. I thought, ‘that’s a double-barrelled shotgun’.”
The sound he heard was a car smashing into two heavy metal bollards – sending one of them skittling across the road.

He caught a glimpse of what he believed was an Audi A6 saloon. Parts of its front bumper were left in the road.
Together with another neighbour, Allan moved the bollards and called the police. The incident happened at around 12.45am on Sunday, December 1.
