FOR this week's Reader Recommends we asked where the best place to get a real Christmas tree is. Here's what you told us...

Alison Fielden recommended the Southleaze Xmas Trees at Common Farm on Wharf Road.

She said “It's the best place to get a real tree. They’re great quality and reasonably priced.”

Alison sent in a picture of her decorated tree that she bought from the farm.

It has been running for more than 25 year by a couple Stewart and Brenda Bell.

They sell Christmas trees, logs, door and table wreathes.

CHARLTON Park House was another popular pick to get the real thing.

Charlotte Simpkins and Alex Cox claimed that this was the best place to get a tree.

The Christmas shop at Charlton in Malmesbury opened on November 30.

It offers three different trees – the Norway spruce, blue spruce and the Nordman fir.

They also sell potted trees and tree stands.

It is open seven days a week opening at 10am and closes at 4pm.

SCOTT Sonatas has recommended Wickes at Gypsy Lane.

He told the Adver: “I’ve tried Wickes and it’s not bad. I got a 7ft Christmas tree for £25.”

It is selling Nordman firs between six and seven foot tall along with lights from £15 and stands from £10.

The store is open seven days a week from 7am until 8pm, except for Sunday as it is open from 10am until 4pm.

It can be found in Gorse Hill next to Swindon Children’s Scrapstore.

NATASHA Marie suggested Gary Huckin, who is self-employed.

She said: “I get mine from Gary. They look beautiful, they’re non-drop and he does free delivery.”

He is selling the trees from £30, including free delivery around Swindon.

Gary can be found at Corporation Street near Spring Gardens

To purchase a tree to get delivered you can find him on Facebook.

He said: “We have a lovely range of non-drop pine Christmas trees. They’re beautiful trees that will last for the whole of Christmas and can be put in the garden afterwards.”

Greatfield Nurseries and Garden Centre was another favourite.

It was picked by Al Dowdes as one of the best places for a good quality tree.

The garden centre is at Greatfield in Royal Wootton Bassett and sells British-grown trees.

On offer is the Nordman fir, Norway spruce and potted trees.

They are being sold between £17.99 up to £25.99.

A spokesperson for the centre said: “These trees really will make a difference to every child’s Christmas.”

It is open Monday to Saturday from 8am until 5.30pm.

On Sundays it opens 10.30am until 4.30pm.
