CHILDREN in Birchwood have put their best foot forward to give back to the community this Christmas.
Gorse Covert Primary School have been raising money for St Rocco's Hospice during this year's elf run.
Catherine Cooke, head teacher, said: "Gorse Covert Primary School’s curriculum is based on curiosity, confidence and community so our school council chose St Rocco’s as our chosen charity to support this Christmas because of the excellent work they do for our community.
"St Rocco’s provided elf hats and sponsor forms for the children to collect funds and all the children did the elf run around Risley Moss to raise money for the charity.
"The children loved doing the run and we are delighted to support St Rocco’s.
"There are still some sponsor forms to be returned but we have already collected £900!"
