THE opening date has been revealed for the new £1.3m Co-op in Purton.

Located in Station Road, the retailer took on the site which was a Best-One convenience store.

The new store, which opens on Friday, December 13, will run fully on renewable energy.

Store manager Dan Hince said: “We're delighted to has the opportunity to carry out such significant investment in the area.

“It really is exciting to be opening Co-op’s newest store and we're looking forward to serving the community.

“We would like to reiterate our thanks to the community for their patience during the works.

“The store has a great look and range, we are confident that the works will enable us to better serve the community’s shopping needs.

“Our aim is to operate at the heart of local life - a community hub, and the investment is a great way to mark the Co-op’s 175th anniversary year.”

The store will be open between 6am and 11pm daily.
