A CUBS group visited care home residents to make Christmas decorations and learn about becoming Dementia Friends.

North Swindon Cubs enjoyed a morning at Ridgeway Rise singing songs around a fake campfire made of twigs and orange-yellow tissue paper.

The youngsters build a model of neuro-connections to learn about the brain processes of someone with dementia.

Care home manager Kinga Dabrowska said: “Their response to such complex topic amazed and inspired me.

"They were extremely engaging and demonstrated undeniable thirst for knowledge.”

The Cubs pledged to support people with dementia by “being kind and quiet”, “try to keep everybody safe”, “help them understand and remember”, and “always smile and speak slowly”.
