A FUN day at a Swindon dog school raised thousands of pounds for a therapy centre in the town.

Janet’s Puppy Skool presented a cheque for a whopping £4,140 to staff from the Swindon MS Therapy Centre.

An afternoon full of activities at the centre earlier this month which included adventure trails, dog show classes and a raffle raised £2,070.

Barclays then doubled this amount because Janet Garrett and her team had exceeded expectations and gone over £1,000.

Janet said: "When we decide to fundraise, we really put our hearts and souls into it. Quite a few of the people who come to our classes have MS and use the centre so we wanted to help.

"Every class got sponsored and we were amazed by the amount of money we raised in such a short space of time. I'm absolutely thrilled.

"I visited the therapy centre to see how the money would help them - they have one full-time staff member, one part-time staff member and a small army of volunteers.

"We are so glad we could help keep them going and continue their vital work.

"The dogs deserve some credit, too - all these events could not have happened without them!"
